System Requirements

The ABM system requirements have been developed as a general guideline only, and are intended for clients and ABM business partners. The number of workstations, frequency of transactions, and the type of transactions will all influence the specific hardware requirements of the site. ABM highly recommends a qualified IT Consultant be involved to assist and provide specifications for configuring the hardware, network, and operating systems for use with ABM software.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM WORKSTATION SPECIFICATION

To gain the best performance from ABM we would recommend using the latest Microsoft Operating System. The following hardware specifications are a recommended minimum for ABM.
  • Processor: Core 2 Duo or equivalent
  • Memory: 2GB minimum
  • Hard Disk: 1GB minimum
  • Display: Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher
  • Microsoft Windows®: Windows 7 or later, with all service packs wp-contentlied.
NOTE: Our support status for operating systems is based on that of Microsoft; this means we follow their own dates for discontinuation of platform support
Optional
Microsoft Office® 2010 or later is required for Outlook® and Excel® integration (the software integrates with Microsoft Excel® for data analysis. Microsoft Outlook® is required to handle email, task and calendar functions).

RECOMMENDED SERVER OPERATING SYSTEM AND SQL SERVER SPECIFICATION

To gain the best performance of ABM we would recommend the latest Microsoft Server and Microsoft SQL Server database software. If data is stored in SQL Server then SQL Server 2008 R2 Express or higher can be used, subject to the limitations of those products. We have seen considerable performance improvement when there is ample RAM to cache the ABM data base on the server. For instance, with a 10GB database with more than double the RAM (say 24GB) there is room to cache the database and spare for growth. It is important that the SQL Server is not competing for resources with other platforms such as Exchange, so these should generally be placed on separate servers.
